I don't see where he was treated quite like any other criminal. Where's the nose-high, overexposed snapshot that others would have to produce? Where are the orange or gray coveralls that others wear? Where are the cuts and bruises? No, he's still getting preferential treatment that he's received all his life. Maybe that will now change and hewill actually pay for his actions. One could only hope.
