I would have supported Joe (I'm older than he is and still running my company) but the Dems undercut him so badly that there's no hope for his candidacy. What Dem nitwit strategist agreed to a debate with no upside and a huge downside. Why give a felon visibility and credibility-just say "NO". Why take the risk that Joe would have a bad day? Idiots! Now they better get their act together quickly and in 100% agreement-no public bickering.

Joe Biden saved our democracy by winning the the 2020 election and defeating an incumbent who repeatedly demonstrated their disdain for democracy.

George Washington is perhaps best known for knowing when to pass the torch. By passing the torch Washington demonstrated faith in democracy.

I agree with you David, Vice President Kamala Harris is, for many reasons, the best and the right person to carry the torch of democracy and become the next president of the United States.

For what it's worth, even though I disagree with him on several issues, Senator Mark Kelly just might be her best choice for a running mate.

Joe Biden will go down in history as a hero for defeating an incumbent authoritarian president.

I dreamed last night Kamala was our candidate! Everyone was happy and behind her, working hard to help her win. She relaxed and let the Republican candiate have it with gusto........Let's hope some dreams come true.

I agree, Fitz. But I invite you to read my Substack post, “My Toe Is not A Worm and Joe Biden Is not Senile.” (It makes sense in context.) My point is that commentators overlook the prominence of Biden’s stutter in his debate performance. While others saw an old man lost in a fog, I saw a man hammered by a disabling condition flaring up at the worst possible time. There might be (and likely are) other medical challenges, but I believe the impact of Biden’s stuttering disability has not been fully appreciated.

Biden stuttered as a child. Is this news to you? It's not a brain problem.

That’s the point I made in my post. His stuttering disability is erroneously interpreted as an intellectual disability. It’s not. It doesn’t affect the executive function. My post was as much about disability awareness as politics.

My bad. I'm on your page. ... I should have 'edited' my comment to read, "is that news to ANYONE?" Pardon, please?

I grant a general pardon to anybody who is kind enough to read my posts. :)

This business of yakking about someone "being old" is GETTING "old." Forget it! I'm the one that's OLD, (born in 1931, do the math). Yeah, I walk 'funny' with an old-fashioned walker. Yeah, I was in great shape until I wasn't. And, NO, I don't have a "numbers compartment" in my brain ... old news ... I have not since 5th Grade. Instead, my head is full of the alphabet, of U.S. History, of the U.S. Constitution, and of Civics. I'm a positive woman! While I don't wish to run a country ... I could! So there!

It sounds as though you have changed yiur tune. A presidency is not just one person, but one person has to lead. I trust Joe. That MAGA guy can’t even stay awake to get nominated or even complete a whole sentence. Every day with trump is a very bad day.

Joe let us through some very tough times, and for that we are a grateful Nation. If it does come down to Joe or that criminal, I’ll go with Joe any day. Whatever he decides, I hope he does it with the same grace and dignity he brought to the office.

I hate this indecision and waffling about Biden. On one hand, I want him to stay in the race. He's been an excellent President for four years. Yes, he's old and acts that way more than I would like. But then the question becomes how can he be replaced this late in the game. Holding an open convention would be ridiculous; can you imagine the difficulty and acrimony that would come from such an exercise? And passing over VP Harris in favor of some other, not-so-well known polician would be anathema to me as a woman, and especially to women of color. As of right now, we are on track to lose to Trump and Project 2025. Is that what we want?

VP Harris is first in Line of Succession to the Presidency. That has meaning, in and of itself. Of course, the MAGA crowd now are trying to differentiate between "leaving," or "gone," or "dead." That approach, to me, spells "desperation"

In our collective hearts, we know you're right, Dave. We just don't like to HAVE to take the keys away from Grandpa. Especially one who has done so much good for our country and has received barely any credit for it. ☹️

I agree with you 100% that Kamala should be the candidate. However yesterday I heard AOC say something that gave me pause. Republicans in swing states have already begun preparing lawsuits for anyone other than Biden being the Democratic candidate. Republicans are not trying to win at the ballot box. They’re trying to get the election to SCOTUS, which has already shown it’s a kangaroo court ready to hand Trump the crown and shit all over our Republic. I fear for our country over the next few months for sure.

Harris and Shapiro can fight back against the MAGA Klan.

Changing four months before the election will not work. Dems eat their own, if we can't unite around Joe, do you really think anyone else can win. Let Joe get in, I believe that he is the only way to save democracy right now.

If I had a nickel for the number of men I’ve known with even a modicum of power who gripped and clawed their way to keep it at any cost, well, you know the rest. His bull-headed response to calls for his resignation is just one more sign that his judgment is severely impaired. Sad and pathetic.

The only person responsible for President Joe Biden's debate debacle is Joe. He hid his health challenges from us and now is caught in the tornado of public opinion. Watching him today is similar to witnessing my parents passing.
