Great News! I had triple by-pass surgery some seven years ago at the time the docs gave me five more years I demanded, and got, seven plus years as I had recently bought a set of new tires and the dealer there gave me a seven-year warranty. Demand more - it sometimes works. Stay well.
As a Type II since 1996, I am glad you have found the chemical cocktail that will work for you. I know how you feel about the side effect warnings too. Their small print and sometimes multiple pages can be daunting. Did you mention “can cause dizziness” and “don’t operate a car or machinery until you adjust to your medication?”
I see a good A1C in your future! In the words of my first diabetes doctor: “You are going to cheat, but don’t be regular about it.” (He went on to retrain as a psychiatrist!)
Stay well. Keep your American Diabetic Association Dietary Exchanges book where you can find it!
That is awesome, Fitz! I have recently had two minimally invasive surgeries and I am astonished by the advances in medical science! Procedures that used to take weeks to recover from are now virtually painless.
David, Congratulations your your 101. I have been Diabetic (Type 2) since 2006, and I have only got lower than that once. Take care of yourself and you may end up as old as me. The secret is to keep trying!
