Of course, if MAGAs had their way, teachers could never mention that the first Territorial case ever to be argued before the US Supreme Court was that of a Mexican woman contending that good ol' James Douglas stole her common law husband's mining claim for Phelps Dodge... which she won. She later sold the claim to the company for five times their original offer.

Plus you know if they had their way, they would just erase Raul Castro's governorship as well...

If Donald Trump was our Governor, and he appointed Jeffrey Epstein as the Superintendent of Schools in Arizona, writings of the Marquis de Sade would be required readings in elementary school.

I believe that Black Tucsonans could only swim in some public pools here during the last two days of the month - after which the water was changed.

For crying out loud, this part of Arizona was once Mexico! My stepdaughter taught Mexican American studies, my next-door neighbor, age 6 goes to Davis school, which is a bilingual school in TUSD. You are speaking to the choir, mi amigo!

Possible addition to the list: After the Gadsden Purchase, stolen land and water rights from Mexican owners by Anglo settlers through court actions that required proof of ownership available only in records in Spanish archives IN Spain.

In some towns in PinaL County Children of Color were not allowed to swim community pools on many days of the week. They were only allowed to use the pool on the day prior deep cleaning.

We would have to rename prison camp on mt lemmon yet again, as the idea that we had a camp for japanese origin citizens during the 2nd world war might make tender white folks feel bad….

It is my understanding that Arizona's bankers and realtors continued their discriminatory practices against people of color until 1968 when the Fair Housing Act of 1968 became the law.
