The Maine Massacre story buried along with the dead
Senator Sinema along with others voted to allow Vets with mental issues to keep guns hours before the Maine shooting
Here’s the Rolling Stone reporting I am referring to: Senate Voted to Let Vets With Mental Issues Keep Guns Hours Before Maine Shooting
Senator John Kennedy, the grey-haired gasbag Trump apologist from Lousiana introduced his guns-for-all-including-the-mentally-incompetent Amendment on Wednesday. “My amendment would prevent government workers from unduly stripping veterans of their right to bear arms,” Kennedy said. “Every veteran who bravely serves our country has earned VA benefits, and it’s wrong for the government to punish veterans who get a helping hand to manage those resources.”
I dare Kennedy to fly to Maine and stand on a street corner in Lewiston today and bellow the same gun barrel-fellating sentiment.
Once again craven, despicable cowards in our Congress handed weapons of mass destruction to troubled citizens. Senators Angus King and Susan Collins, both of Maine voted to adopt it. I hope neither sleep soundly ever again.
Neither Senator is willing to talk about their disgusting vote now. I hope it’s the first question they are asked at every press conference for eternity.
The Republicans could not have passed this without the help of Democrats who controlled the Senate. Among the mentally incompetent Democrats who voted for this insane Amendment were Sens. Kyrsten Sinema, Manchin, Tester, and Rosen.
We here in Arizona know Kyrsten Sinema is a bloodless failure.
Can we agree people who are a danger to themselves, or others, should not be able to buy firearms? And can we agree on another point?
Members of Congress who endanger all of us should not be able to continue to hold office. Enough of this madness.
As a Vietnam-era veteran among the first U.S. Army women required by law to qualify with a semi-automatic rifle (and who qualified as an "expert"), I can see absolutely no reason for civilians to have these weapons in their homes. Even while on active duty (and later with the AZ guard), these firearms had to be checked out of the armory for a specific purpose and length of time. It's one thing to have a handgun. Nobody needs a semi-automatic at home unless planning a massacre or defending a drug operation.
Vote her out. If she has the nerve to vote. Ruben Gallego is a principled, caring, responsive, and intelligent legislator who will CARE about people and not only lobbyists with big donations. This makes me want to fight.
