Thank you for your inspiration. Let's all think about what each of us can do to support the values you have stated. If I had my career to do over I would become a history teacher because those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
As a retired former US History teacher, I feel I must have failed to have my former students probably voting for the Orange Man. (This was in Iowa.) My hope is that though they are scattered and much older now, they might remember just a bit of what I taught them, and resist what needs to be challenged.
I'm feeling grateful that I live in Pima County AZ. That there are good people like you in the world and that today can be sad but tomorrow is filled with possibilities.
Thank you, David. I was encouraged by the massive turnout at our vote center yesterday. We had lines forming at 5:30AM, and the last voter got out the door at 8:30PM. It never slowed down all day. I barely had a change to go to the bathroom, let alone have a cup of coffee. Seriously. We were still counting ballots at 11PM. So I don't understand any of these outcomes announced when we haven't finished counting votes. But I'm with you, Tooner. Vive la Resistance.-- after a nap. But my heart aches for the nation I once knew.
Thank you, Fitz. It was hard to get out of bed this morning, but once I did many of the thoughts you shared were the same ones I found inspiring me to get moving. You were such an inspiration this election season! May we all continue to inspire one another. Lots of love.
First of all, thank you for your tireless efforts to secure a different outcome. I feel that there will be some hard lessons learned over the next 4 years, and that next time we will (hopefully) be given a chance to vote we will choose from a new generation of leaders with a new vision on how to move our Country forward. Kamala and Tim did an outstanding job given the short amount of time they had to rescue a party in disarray, but I am still stunned that voters bought all the lies, and somehow put the price of bacon above women's rights and the environment... Unfortunately it appears we got the leaders we deserve. But let us not despair or give up on America... Remember, what Winston Churchill said; "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others that have been tried"... In the meantime, I plan to apologize to my kids and grandkids for the mess we've left them.

David, thank you for your words of comfort and hope. And YES, the resistance is still here and we WILL fight for this country that we love!
Thank you for this thoughtful, inspiring message. I needed to hear a voice like your this morning. Gratefully yours - Thea
Needed your words, Fitz. Utterly heartbroken here, and full of despair.
Thank you for your activism, your sense of Country and for your continuing to look forward (and not down).

I don’t want to read much but I did want to read what you wrote and you helped me. Thank you for being a man of valor. I don’t say that lightly.
As Pogo (of comic strip fame) once said, "we have met the enemy and it is us".
Bye, Bye, Ms. American Pie
Thank you Fitz for your words and your courage to stand up for your (and my) beliefs.

Thank you, David, for your commitment to your ideals and your determination to continue to support them. Your article today gives me hope.
Thank you for all you do and for these words of encouragement. Let’s hope that it proves to be true that it is always darkest before the dawn.
Well written and so very true! Thank you for your inspirational writing.
Thank you, David, for inspiring us to think beyond racism, deceitfulness, and the absence of truth. In America today, facts are of no consequence.
Thanks so much.
