Wonderful movies! Thanks for listing so I can watch many of them again, if I can without having a meltdown.

Thanks, David, for your great recommendations.

I'm so glad you included Good Night and Good Luck. I used to act with the Oscar-nominated David Strathairn in college. I'm always happy to see his successes!

Thanks for reminding me of some oldies. Some I’ve never seen Hope you are feeling well. Sure miss your brilliance in the Star. The current crop of cartoonists are mostly no talent disappointments. 😩

David ~ You never fail to amaze with your excellent posts, and you certainly provided a great service with this one! Not only did you remind me (us) of some very relevant films for the present day (as they were for the past and likely will be for the future), but you somehow managed to also provide the trailers for all of them! Perhaps it is encouraging that, when we become dispirited thinking that we are in our darkest hour, we are able to look back in history and see that it has all happened before! I know there is a relevant quote about not learning from previous mistakes. Is that what is going to doom us, Fitz? Thank You 🙏 for your perseverance in enlightening me with your knowledge, opinions and, especially, your optimism. Your devoted fan, Kathleen Brennan-Glynn, Captain, PCSD (Retired), Ph.D.

You might also consider 'Little Big Man' for a unique insight into the 'settling' of the West...

I had no doubt that "The Best Man" would be in this list. Well done. I intend to spend the next week seeing ALL of these.

A great list. I think I will try to organize an at-home film festival based on this list.

Thank you, David! You are speaking my language!! I’m about to get ready to watch a new series on Apple plus TV. I will send you a list tomorrow tomorrow relevant movies from many countries. I am a movie addict; unfortunately, unless a movie at The Loft; is under two hours, I have to stream them. Later.

"Elmer Gantry." OMG Burt Lancaster has to have been the evangelical leaders' vision of the Orange Moron.

Andy should have received an Oscar for that portrayal. I still have a hard time seeing good, ol' Andy as a bad guy.
