Sorry to be using this platform to organize street sign demonstartions this week but I can’t just sit at my keyboard and carp. Out here in Tucson, Arizona It’s been a long joyful week on the streets. People are feeling good. More thumbs up than flip offs in Tucson. We are the BLUE WALL.
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing how a campaign works from this grunt’s perspective. What will I write about when it’s over? In January. If we’re lucky. Or on election night if she sweeps Carolina and Penn.
This will be the weekend to canvass and persuade the persuadable. Please canvas this FINAL week. Here’s the zillion ways you can volunteer: https://azdem.org/take-action/

Tuesday’s Turnout at Speedway and Country Club
Please indulge me this, dear subscribers, but I had to do something. Michelle’s right. Gotta do something. And I can’t canvass. I’d lose my shit. 40-years in the trenches with the crazy right has left me with no patience. So help me, if I see some fool wearing a “Veterans for Trump hat” I’ll tell him about the John McCain I knew personally….and accomplish nothing. But I can paint signs.
Drumpf. I’ve been writing about this uncommon all too common man for decades and it’s challenging to pause to enjoy the giddy spookiness of Halloween when an actual horror, an orange monster, is terrorizing the countryside, rally by rally, a gluttonous vampire seeking to drain democracy of its blood. If he wins it will feel like he has shot America on Fifth Avenue and gotten away it. A Frankenstein’s monster of sewn together
Not under our watch. Not our country. Not our state.
Canvas. Wave signs. Join us tomorrow at Alvernon and 22nd, 11-2pm.Vote. Encourage five people to vote. Tell me your story here:
Talk with you soon.
I hear you my friend. Thanks, keep up the good work. We all gotta do what we gotta do. If only the rest of the US was like Pima County.
We can't lose...We won't lose...not with great champions of democracy like you and Barak and Michele and Jamie and Adam and a cast of thousands of inspired and inspiring surrogates--the best and the brightest of our deep bench of Democrats in Congress; celebrity luminaries like Beyonce and Taylor; the leaders of the future beyond Kamala and Tim who are emerging from GenZ --like the survivors of Parkland who are inspiring an army of first time voters. There is a saying in the State Department in times of deep peril..."Cometh the moment, cometh the man." Well, we need to thank our lucky stars or whatever gods there be that such a leader has appeared in the form of Kamala Harris. We and the world are just beginning to understand how superbly prepared she is to meet the moment. We will win.
