Thanks. My, our world, turned upside down Jan 31, when, having called 911 as my husband was obviously having a stroke, they arrived. After a few minutes, they walked him - yep, walked him dressed in his tighty whiteys and an undershirt out the carport door, down the steps - yep, down the steps, across the asphalt driveway to the gurney! It was cold as hell and I screamed at them - "what the hell are you doing? At least give him a blanket." " We have one in the ambulance", which was parked on the street, was the reply. Now, with vascular dementia and having not one, but 3 strokes, he is in Handmaker on the Memory unit and happy to report, in addition to excellent care (unlike St. Mary's) his sense of humor remains snarky and intact. Yes, humor does indeed help.
Thank you for being a wonderful final act in the "Ted Talk" format of the inaugural Before I Die Tucson event at The Loft. We laughed. We cried. A good time was had by all.
Thanks Dave. Hit the coffin nail on the head!
Oh and ouch
This was really honest. Thank you for writing on this topic. I will be the-reading it for sure.
“The Dave Fitzsimmons 3-Stages of grief.” Perfect!
