Brilliant. And thanks for remembering this day in history. Before TACO we would hear about the day in history all over the news. No more. Of course those of us born to WW2 heroes are dwindling. But we should remember. I had happened to be in London on Nov 11, and at 11am, the entire city population came down from the towers onto to the streets and lobbies to REMEMBER and honor those who fought for OUR freedoms. A minute of silence in the entire city. I’ll never forget but figure this too will wash away with time. No longer a collective memory. 💔♥️

Each and every veteran should be disgusted with the current administration and those veterans who voted for him should be very ashamed. What were they (and the almost 50% of american voters) thinking or were they just stupid enough to be duped by the conman? TBD.

Well, I’ll guess the White House bromance is over, King Kong and Godzilla will not be double-dating, and making whoopee. “Gone are the days that once were sublime.”

The beaches at Normandy are amazingly peaceful & beautiful - that’s what we fought for. Thank you for reminding us of that legacy & how we need to keep earning that blessing of peace and freedom.

Thank you Fitz:

Today, Heather Cox Richardson wrote in part, "On the morning of June 6, 1944, five naval assault divisions stormed the beaches of Normandy. Seven thousand ships and landing craft operated by more than 195,000 naval personnel from eight countries brought almost 133,000 troops to beaches given the code names UTAH, OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO, and SWORD. By the end of the day, more than 10,000 Allied troops were wounded or killed, but the Allies had established a foothold in France that would permit them to flood troops, vehicles, and supplies into Europe. When FDR held a press conference later that day, officials and press alike were jubilant.

Today, June 6, 2025, on America's National Mall, thousands of its proud veterans are preparing to protest the cutting off of their benefits, jobs, housing support, medical assistance, and earned social services by two greedy billionaires. One a draft dodger felon, the other a 'former' drug addict, and when informed of this, the nation wept.

Thank you for this. So many died. My father's ship was blown up at Omaha Beach. He was strafed, rescued but suffered the rest of his life. Let's not forget these many sacrifices.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Megalomaniacs rise and fall while the populous always suffers.
