"because we believed in peace through strength and air raid sirens on Saturdays."

I distinctly remember being out grocery shopping with my parents sometime in the late 60's, hearing the sirens go off and for a monemt thinking "Oh great! We 're getting bombed now" for a moment until I remembered it was 1:30 Saturday afternoon...

"America’s space program will no longer be the pride of our nation. "

Ain't NOTHING going to be the "pride of our Nation" anymore if they get their way...

Your rewrite of the Marine Corps anthem is AWESOME!

Soldiers and others have risked their lives to protect our freedom and democracy, and many have died. These were brave men and women. I am so dang tired of cowards in the military and elsewhere, whose lack of even modest bravery, not life risking bravery, mocks those who have and do nobly serve.

Dave knows that I retired from the Army with the same rand as his MSGT father. I went on to add an additional 14 years in civil service as the civilian equivalent of a Major. I was raised in a strong Republican household. I tell you this to tell you that during my 20 years active duty I never once voted...I believed active duty personnel served the country, no individual. Plus, always moving, I never understood local politics. My first 12 years as a civilian I was at the Tank Command in Warren, MI and didn't care about local politics there, only the pot holes in the roads!!! But I did become an Independent. However, until Trump came along I still never voted because I wasn't that passionate. But NOW I have voted AGAINST Trump twice!!!

How sad that the 'draft dodger' and his cowardly cardboard cabinet of 'bootlickers' are being allowed to make our proud sons and daughters in uniform into MAGA thugs.

Thanks for the joyous “Everyday People” song of Sly’s. My hippy anthem.

In defense of the Generals, you’ll only get cashiered if you speak out in protest. Unless they all speak out you’d be the token sacrifice. Better to stay to help protect your troops however you can? The dilemma of the German military in 1939. Still hard to believe that this is happening in this country.

Different Stokes For Different Folks - if only all the people could accept that philosophy. Everyday people somehow seem to be forgotten in this madness in the Trumpsphere. Hopefully through peaceful mass resistance reason, logic and common sense can be restored to our political leaders. Looking forward to attending No Kings demonstration with continued effort to make a difference.
