To quote Firefly:

"May have been on the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one."

Question for those who voted for the convicted Felon:

What would it have taken to disqualify him in your eyes? It obviously wasn't rape, 34 felony convictions, blatant racism. homophobia, misogyny, or xenophobia. It wasn't the notion of your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters and granddaughters losing their rights as human beings and being cast into secondary personhood. It wasn't even inciting the mob to storm the Capitol, beat/kill cops, and defecate/defile its august halls,

What would have been an act bad enough for you to NOT vote for such a bunch of hateful, ugly spirits?

Thank you so much for the positive message about our blue town. It’s been such a devastatingly sad week .

I'm with you Cynthia. It has been a devastating week. My salvation (not Jesus) is reading Fitzsimmons. Nothing more to say.

Thanks for this. And for all you did during the election. Lots of love to you.

Oh Fitz! You echo my thoughts. I am so damn angry about the results of this election! I feel like it’s been a slap in the face to all of us older women. We’ve endured discrimination & prejudice all our lives & now, when we think we may finally have a woman President, we are once again knocked down because…you name the reason. Two extremely qualified women get rejected because of the overwhelming bro-white man culture can’t abide a woman President! They would rather have a lying, adulterous, racist, misogynist pig in charge. I’m constantly screaming inside but can’t let all that rage out. Thank goodness for your writing that tells me I am not alone. Please keep it up! Thank you!

Unfortunately for all of us, it should not be forgotten that Kamala was late to the party, and because of that, she simply didn't have enough time to bring the country her A-game. But that's not the main reason that she lost. No, it's because there are way too many Americans who apparently were never taught to identify bullshit when they see it! We Arizonans can smell it a mile away, and what we have just witnessed is the far-right fake news machine perpetrating one of the greatest con-jobs ever to befall the American public. For YEARS, day in and day out, they relentlessly spewed lies, hate and decisiveness through so many media outlets that it was all but hammered right into the gray matter of millions of unsuspecting voters. I believe that the poor brainwashed masses will soon come to realize that their "savior" is nothing but a charlatan, only interested in one thing: helping himself get richer and more powerful. He couldn't care less about them, and they swallowed the bait, hook, line, and sinker. The pendulum will swing back once they realize the extent of the damage that he will selfishly inflict upon them and everyone in our great country.

Ranting does help. Doesn't change anything but helps, nevertheless. Amen, brother except for the Billy (bully) boy segment and especailly for the (so true ) Tucson plug. So, circle the wagons and hunker down and hope against hope that there are SOME thinking republicans. Elon does believe in climate change and EV's.

ime to get real. Two empirical facts tell us that the election result was 1. A lack of Democrat and Democrat leaning independents, who voted for Biden, to turn out for this election and 2. A recognition that a significant percentage of the public, both male and female, do not want a woman President. All the rest of the crap from Joe Scarbough, Bill Mahr, Johnny Deutch, Mika, Maureen Dowd, and others just offer excuses that fall in the noise level. Face it, most voters with education and some level of intelligence made the decision for MACHO over Democracy. Many stayed home. For me, as an atheist, I am going to take a few laps around the rosary and hold my breath until the next election when Democrats hopefully will quit fighting among themselves! Its time to make voting a civic Duty, with punishment for failure.

Thank you for the encouragement. I’m taking some additional solace from the fact that less than 30% of eligible voters voted for TFG, so hardly a mandate.

I feel bad for my kids. What kind of education are they about to receive? AZ is already bottom of the barrel. I hate this.

It's been a rough week for me personally without including the disastrous election outcome. After dealing with personal issues, I turned to Fitzsimmons to express my disappointment in a way that only he can express it. What writing skills . . . I did what little I could do (given my age as an excuse for not doing more - 84 years old). Now, I regret that I didn't stretch myself more. Unless you lived in the West Coast, the name Kamala Harris was not familiar and meant nothing. So, one quick look at the ballot and see one name that I do know. And why do I know that name??? Well. because he is always in the news. So, I'll vote for the one name I recognize.

I’m finally coming out of my deep depression and couldn’t have put it better myself, but do keep in mind that bacon will probably cost less… That’s obviously very important to the majority of Americans.
