It's "All Hands On Deck!" Let's DO the thing that needs to be done. "We, The People" are the ones as citizens of this "Republic For Which We Stand" who possess that responsibility.
Whether you like it or not, we are going to protect you. We have well appointed maximum security prison cells that should do the job nicely, whether you like it or not.
I cannot understand who anyone could vote for that delusional, decrepit, demented, demonic, demagogue. Yesterday to life my spirits, I took a 2-mile route in my neighborhood that I call "happy street". I walked past dozens and dozens of homes with multiple Harris/Walz, Gallego, Engel, etc. signs on both sides of the streets, with only 3 houses sporting Trump signs. I stopped and talked to a man whose yard had beautiful flowers and a "Veterans for Trump" sign. I guess Sun City is living up to its name. And thanks Fitz for coming to our Democratic Club meeting recently. You are a treasure!
Fitz … you are over-the-top vociferous here but you have spoken out loud and clear what we think and cannot say. Bless you for all you’ve done (stirred up) in Tucson this politically dense season.
This is a great column! It's echoing all my fears and trepidation over the election results. I'm trying to steel myself to accept the results, but it's a struggle some days. I guess you could say that I'm cautiously optimistic? (Gee, Fitz, you forgot to mention of the awful thing President Biden said the other day! He actually dared call the followers of Trump "garbage"! How dare he! Guess all the horrible names Trump has called me and my fellow Democrats, as well as all the derogatory nicknames he has called practically everyone for years, completely slipped their minds!)
I'm a 72 yo WOMAN! And I won't go back! However, there is one thing I'd like to see: One of your cartoons showing the Statue of Liberty with tRUMP holding the guns, shooting at her and....whatever feels right to you!
Thank you, Fitz. I really appreciate your passion and your ability to translate it into rousing words and heart-filled action. We are so lucky to have you.
The great spanish-american philosopher George Santayana wrote: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." How true. Your poignant essay serves as a perfect reminder why we must never forget these words especially during these perilous times where democracy is under constant attack. Trump and his acolytes will forever be known as the "Garbage Men" and we can't let them get away with destroying our still great nation.
I am very hopeful and positive of good results. Did you know that our canvassers are dedicated volunteers who are believers. Their canvassers are paid by Elon Musk. They don’t give a you know what who wins as long as they get paid. Makes a difference.
Fitz, each time I think your column is the best you’ve written, you come up with one even better. My birthday is on Tuesday and I’ll be seventy-twelve… that scares me almost as much as the thought of the orange Hitler getting control of the country.
This 81 year old woman is NOT going back!
We WILL WIN!
Give ‘em Hell girls! (And you guys too if you’re man enough!)

Dear Mr. Trump,

Thx, David! Your rouser came through just as you intended. I'm sharing it with friends because we all need to hear what you have to say!
My birth year. I can't go back; we shouldn't go back.

Well said David!
