Thanks, David! Among other things, this is an appreciation of the Mexican American community. After all, we were part of Mexico until the mid 18s. One can hear Spanish spoken every day in Tucson. In the olden days when I had Obsidian Gallery, we had a day of the dead invitational exhibition every year. I remember it well. Artists get it!
What a wonderful collection to celebrate this day. As a Midwesterner who moved here, it was hard at first to understand the Day of the Dead. But I’ve come to appreciate this lovely celebration and thank you for capturing the lightness and seriousness of the day. It is such a special part of the history of our community.
Thanks Fitz! Great editorial drawings as usual. Speaking of Dia de los Muertos - Ding Dong the witch is dead. Seven years of listening to the weeping babbling brat claim that "it's all just a political witch hunt" it now seems appropriate that during the week 'the day of the dead' is celebrated the great orange pumpkin is exposed as a loser and a fraud. Those nasty political conspirators' he alludes to so often they created Trump U, they hired Stormy Daniels, they faked his nonexistent taxes, they took funds from his 'charitable' foundation, they made that fake 'grab them by the crouch' brag tape, they bankrupted his hugely successful casinos, they hide all those government 'Top-Secret Documents' in his Mar-a-Lago bathroom, that even made Puerto Rico an unknown island and finally they had the audacity to move Sioux City Iowa to South Dakota.
Thanks Dave! Maybe I'll see you amongst the throngs. It starts 100 yards from front door!!
I notice the route has changed this year!
For those of us who cannot attend due to mobility issues, your cartoons are a wonderful substitute. So it goes when one is reTIRED!
