2013? I have lived here since 1971 ... over 50 years in wonderland. I have neither seen nor read this tribute by FITZ before, but I am so "there." Truth is that once seen and read, this ode to Tucson and to the high desert' never again can be "unread" or "unseen." Special. Observant. Eloquent. --- My first visit to AZ was in 1969, up to Wickenberg, to visit a woman I had never met except in the pages of WESTERN HORSEMAN Magazine. She was Sophie Burden, 'grande dame' of then Remuda Ranch. Somehow, we thought alike, yet I had never before walked on desert soil or spotted a roadrunner or stared up at a saguaro. Before I left, Sophie looked down and said, "You have trail dust on your boots ... you'll be back!" Yes. For all of her reasons. For my reasons. And ... this morning ... for reasons matched with those of our own desert sage, David Fitzsimmons. A 'blessed by trail dust' Merry Christmas to all and a Hopeful New Year.
The perfect Christmas message! Thank you so much for your constant encouragement and optimism. May your holidays be filled with joy and laughter and love!
Brilliantly moving. And weaved with the Truth found in Matthew 25 that has been passed down through the ages. If only everyone would read and hear your message.
Thank you.
And may you have a holy, blessed, joyful and Merry Christmas.
Fitz

This native Oregonian has learned to love every winter characteristic you mentioned.
I'll take a clear winter star spattered sky over a slushy snow storm any year.
