A chance to chill with friends and laugh your Trump funk away
There’s a book bannin’, groomer huntin’, school board howler on the loose in Southern Arizona.
She’s a Republican legislator who’s a huge embarrassing do nothing drag on our state. She’d rather representing Trump’s MAGA loons than the sane rural and suburban fine folks of her Legislative District 17 and the good news is the Reprehensible Representative Justine Wadsack is vulnerable this go ‘around. It’s a swing district which means you all could help to flip the Arizona Senate. And flip Arizona’s rabid right wing bigots the all mighty bird at the ballot box!
And the best part of all of this package of political good news is the Democratic candidate John McLean would make a stellar lawmaker, a high-tech exec who worked in the defense industry, a softie into dog rescue, and a former TRW Space and Defense Group guy and the best thing about John is he is a rational, normal human being he is into solving real problems.
Are you in LD17?
LD17 is another gerryemandered oddly shaped critter that wraps around Tucson taking in Vail, the far east side, up across Mt.Lemmon, over to Catalina, and back down Oro Valley, Marana, Casas Adobes and Picture Rocks. And the truth is even if you aren’t in LD17 Arizona deserves better than this destructive fanatic in our state assembly.
Fundraisers are key and I’m going to this one next week.
And I’m hoping you’ll join me in the audience at one of the two shows on Wednesday the 26th, at 3:30 and at 7:00 at Unscrewed Theatre at 4500 E. Speedway because I want to see and meet who wins lunch with me! —with my pen at your service. I will joyfully be among the many other prizes at this fabulous fundraiser.
Because Justine is in a chronic snit fit over drag queens the star entertainers of this fabulously entertaining program are the finest, funniest, most talented drag performers in Arizona.
And they are all here at LD17’s “Drag Queen and King Power Hour” super fun fundraiser giving their all on behalf of the Democratic Party.
This is not a political rally.
A blue bird hoping to turn our state blue told me some politicians could be in the audience but in lieu of stump speeches there will only be entertainment because as General Patton said to his troops, “You already know what to do.”
Profits from this event will go to support activities of the district Dems which is an all-Volunteer organization. Every Legislative District starts with zero infrastructure and is tasked with helping to get Dem Legislative Candidates over the finish line.
On a side note: Be a patriot and step up and go down to your party HQ and tell them I sent you. Tell them you want to hang out and volunteer with your fellow normal sane citizens who give a damn about our democracy.
Tickets are $75 and available at the links below.
3:30 Show: Drag extravaganza matinee event tickets
7:00 Show: Drag extravaganza evening event tickets
And if you can’t attend because you’re floating down the Rhine or in a cabin in Trump country but you wish to donate to the Party, or subsidize one of our younger volunteers who has less scratch, and is canvassing in the heat, click here:
How much money do these individual districts get from the state party and the Democratic National Committee to make this happen? Not a dime. Nada. A big fat Zero Dollars.
That is why we I am plugging this fundraiser for the ground troops and happy to plug others holding fundraisers. (And it’s a great way to meet the other normal sane patriots who are ready to pitch in in 2024)
As my pal, and good trouble trooper, Sue Anderson, points out we’ve all been to endless big plate fundraisers in big ballrooms. But this kind of event is ten times more fun.
“Local is important. We’ve got to support the LDs. In particular, LD17, even if you don’t live here. Because we need to flip the Legislature. That means ousting R incumbents and electing Ds to replace them. Goodbye Wadsack.”
Folks, this is the nuts and bolts part of democracy. Pick up a wrench and join me in building a winning team that will bring us victory in November.
Coming in Saturday’s Post:
“I am Donald Trump’s Speechwriter.”
A first-person account of Hedley Beedle, the secretive man behind all of Trump’s speeches.
Coming in Sunday’s Post:
“Luna”
I surrendered to a lifelong dream a month ago and began writing a long form story about a family surviving in the west a few hundred years in the future in a hotter waterless post-apocalyptic world. What you will receive this Sunday is the first chapter of my novel.
I look forward to your critique, my friends.
Wad sack is the worst…let’s do this…critical!
Sorry I won't be able to join you next week, I'll be running around DC trying to tell people how scary AZ politics can be. I'll be happy to donate. Have a great time, sounds like a lot of fun!
