“If we work like we’ve never worked before, we will elect Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States! Let’s get to work!”
-Barack Obama
I am launching our first “Sign Wave” this Sunday and the first 35 patriots who join me on the corner of Ina and Oracle this coming Sunday at 10 AM will get their own signed Fitzsimmons sign to wave and keep.
The time has come to take to the streets, Ina and Oracle, to be specific—to stand up for Kamala Harris this Sunday! —from 10am to 2pm—and wave your signs!
Show your support for the thousands of southern Arizonans who are working like never before, canvassing, knocking on doors, persuading the persuadable, donating what we can, and working the phone banks by taking to the streets!
The time for our gathering is from 10am to 2pm. Stay for an hour or stay for all four. We are joining forces with another group gathering at Oracle and Ina at 12noon so it should be an impressive number. Help us show Tucson that Kamala Harris has widespread support here.
Share this notice with friends. Grow this “Get out the vote” demonstration with word of mouth.
Follow basic rules of smart and considerate behavior:
Park in spaces unlikely to be used by merchant’s customers.
Encourage folks to honk.
Smile at detractors or ignore them.
Bring your own Harris signs and American flags— if you have any. We’ll have plenty on hand.
Bring sunscreen, hats, water and snacks.
Last- but not least- bring your friends.
Join myself and others for more joyful Kamala Harris sign waving street gatherings with your signs between now and election day. I’ll be posting updates about where those events will be, here in my substack newsletter as soon as I get word from the campaign.

My Sunday on the Street
I got a text on Saturday from a party friend who knew I was interested in organizing some street demonstrations:
“I found a “Corner Stones" group that is going to be on high traffic corners until the election. Tomorrow (Sunday) 9-11 they're going to be on Tanque Verde and Grant near the T-Rex.”
I knew that spot. I showed up early Sunday morning. I found an empty parking space in the empty parking lot and waited. Someone parked next to me. Then someone else show up. More arrived. The first to show up on the street corner was a lively middle aged woman pulling a cart filled with Harris banners, signs and flags. She must be the Pauline Revere of this band of patriots, Linda Verber. I introduced myself to Linda, a sunny and indefatigable party activist who was a joy to meet. Below is a link to her Facebook page.
It’s a private group but worth checking out.
Many brought their own Harris Walz signs. I brought 12 signs I painted, grabbed one and began waving. A younger sign waver pointed out to me that I was holding my sign upside down. We got a lot of approving honks and thumbs ups from smiling drivers. Some slowed down and rolled down their windows to shout “Yay Harris!” Some people honked a supportive beep-beep-beep-a-beep melody. A few shouted "Trump" or flipped us off. “Just wave and smile”, a fellow sign waver said, as she smiled and waved at the “fellow citizen”.
“Drives ‘em nuts.”
A man standing next to me holding a “Turn AZ Blue” sign said “It’s the math teacher in me. I’ve been counting the cars.” He calculated the average number per hour. He smiled and said, ”It ends up being 10,000 eyes in 2-hours. That’s pretty good. And we remind Harris supporters they are not alone. There are a lot of us with you.”
The light turned green, the herd charged and I waved my support for Kamala Harris. It was joyful way to spend the morning.
See you this coming Sunday.
Dear Fitz, please bring or paint another one with the Kamala wave and "45" going ass over teakettle in its wake.
Hope to see you Sunday and thanks.
Need to stand at Congress and Granada rather than Grande. More traffic , more attention. Usually NE corner next to Federal building.
