I highly recommend a book written by a brilliant dear friend of mine, Joe Esposito, a retired U of A Law Professor. The book is titled 'Pragmatism, Politics, and Perversity - Democracy and the American Party Battle'. As part of his curriculum, he dared to teach 'ethics in law', a subject currently viewed as less authentic than 'clean coal, dry water', kingly immunity, and 'constitutionally accepted establishment law'. Thanks, Fitz, for putting the shine on what's left of this little light of mine.
Mo Udall! Remember how he'd speak about the Democratic Party circling all the wagons in order to attend to a crisis and then firing with fervor into the center as a means of addressing the problem? He used to occasionally (when he was alive), identify himself as a "progressive", but how did that term then compare to the likes of A. O. C., Kamala, Hakeem Jeffries, Greg Casar, or Ro Khanna, among many others today? It doesn't! Better be careful when we start throwing around labels.
Ruben should be very content to respectfully serve in the U. S. Senate.
Raul Grijalva = what a delightfully dynamic character he was!!!!
Mark Kelly? We'll see where he goes and what he does. Dear Gabby.... There is someone who is effective, not labeled "progressive", has been a model of moderation and is very sorely missed in a conspicuously active role in government. Very best wishes go out to that amazing couple as we all, HOPEFULLY, move forward in these troubled times and toward magnificent sanity in the not too distant future.
Liberty Mutual? Another insurance company with really stupid advertisements!
But the name is "interesting."
We're coming up on a 250th anniversary celebration and you might think we all want to be mutually free, but will that ever happen? Not in the next month or following year. With what we currently have, I have little faith in seeing coherence in the near term. Not with The Repugnizants and The Dim o'Craps running/drooling around.
Can the center be sensible and productive? Are you truly satisfied with the divisiveness that keeps thrashing the nation continually into disarray? Who wants to latch on to a title and be satisfied that the opportunities of times ahead are permanently latched shut?
What's in a name? What's in one's policies?? Consider Andy Beshear!!!!
I wish you were still with the Star. You were the voice of the voiceless. You are irreplaceable!
And we just lost Mort from the Starπππ
I was devastated ro read about his resignation.
Me too. He invited emails: mort.rosenblum@gmail.com and also recommend (the) mortreport.org. Just adore this man.
I think the better description is Social Democrat.
You make my day when I see your name in my email.
Hereβs hoping that Gallegos wonβt turn into a Sinema or a Fetterman.
Yup have been concerned about this too.
And we love you back, Fitz. π

You're the best, always was and always will be. Carry on, Fitzy.
Keep up the good workβ¦voice and visually!!!!
I'm about as far left as one can be
Fitz with no guardrails. Some brilliant, some smart, always worth reading!
I LOVE what you write. Helps keep me sane.
Astute observations from a self-aware individual.
So grateful you are helping us endure during this dark time and keep a spark of hope we will survive and thrive one day soon.
Progressive? Like in the insurance company??

You know I love your writing, dude. And I appreciate it more now that you're "unfettered." So far, the lullabies are still cracking me up!
Youβre the sharpest commentator out there. Please keep your witty thoughts going. (Former Arizona gal).
