I enjoy summer madness, the dark claustrophobia of the air-conditioned unit that keeps the real world outside for months. Monastic. Hermit-like. I demand the Tucson City Council declare a 2-month “Siesta” holiday and nap for world peace.

I look in the mirror and I am horrified and proud at the same time. I survived another summer. And I will survive very summer. Even as they grow hotter.

And when summer finally ends we completely forget those who suffered from the effects climate change and welcome a new season.
