Here in beautiful Tucson we have neighbors suffering from Trump's cruel policies
Here is one such story
We are all feeling somewhat powerless these days. Like you, I’m always searching for ways, big and small, to affect positive change. Protesting, making calls, writing letters and working with community causes and charities just doesn’t seem to be enough.
We are all doing the best we can.
With Abrego Garcia’s plight in El Salvador making international headlines it is easy to overlook the many stories of Trump’s cruel policies devastating the lives of our neighbors right here in beautiful Tucson .
This one such story from my acquaintance, Tucsonan Hannah Glaston:
A Tucsonan with a valid work permit was arrested by ICE and placed in a detention facility in Florence, AZ. His wife is struggling with cancer (She has a feeding tube) They have three kids, one an adult son with developmental disabilities. With their breadwinner locked away in a cell in Florence their financial circumstances are beyond dire.
Below this link is his wife’s telling of their plight.
I wouldn’t ask you to donate unless I donated as well. I did. Here is the link to the family’s gofundme hosted by a family friend I trust: https://www.gofundme.com/f/family-first-support-our-journey
Here is his wife’s story:
I own a landscaping business, and created the company with the help of my husband. Together, we have grown the company organically, by referral and hard work. Recently my husband, who has been in the US since he was 15, was recently detained by ICE, even though he has a work permit to be here and has a political Asylee residency application pending. He is the sole provider for my family, as he is the one that does the heavy lifting and attends to our business matters.
I can't do the work without him and need help to pay for an attorney and for day to day obligations.
My health is not good and my husband helps to care for me while putting food on the table. I have two of my children living with me, who I support, with one being disabled with special needs. Along with my kids, I have three grand children. What keeps me going and pushing forward, when I hear from my grandkids: She is the best nana ever and loves us all so much.
I am heartbroken right now and very distraught. I need him to come home as soon as possible and we will do everything in our power to make this happen.
Anything you can donate to help our family would be so appreciated.
I have always worked hard to support my loved ones and have always put my family first in every life decision I make. I love my family.
Thank you and God Bless!
Candle lit for your man and your family, my sister. Ever onward.
David

This is just the beginning of our neighbors ending up in this position. I always thought the border patrol was out of control, but apparently ice is answerable to no one.
I’m wondering if any immigration attorneys are offering pro bono until they get inundated. Does anyone know?
Pace yourselves, this is gonna get expensive.

Done! Thanks for letting us know about this family in need. I'm proud to share my name, too! Just want the administration to know that some old white ladies care about justice!
