I am shamelessly plugging three events you may want to attend. I’m looking forward to returning to the stage to perform standup on the 4th of July—but first, here are three events I hope you’ll support and attend. With a busy week ahead you’ll have to wait until Friday to get my next newsletter. Until then, stay cool in the shade.
Join Tucson faith leaders and community groups for a conversation on the rise of Christian nationalism this coming Wednesday, June 14th 6-8pm at the Loft Cinema
This is relevant to the school board madness and political turmoil our state and nation is facing from the fanatcism that has infected the Republican Party. I cannot understate the threat to our democracy coming from these theocrats.
Hear Amanda Tyler, JD of the Baptist Joint Committee speak in person. The event is free and open to the public. Tyler’s speech will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with the audience. For more information about the event at the Loft contact Southern Arizona Event Coordinator Mary Ganapol at 520-907-5207. This is an ecumenical and community collaboration between groups advocating for church and state separation.
Join myself and other allies of the marginalized this coming Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 7 PM at Unscrewed Theater, 4500 East Speedway Blvd. Suite #39, to attend “The Drag Queen Story Hour”—A Fabulous Grown-ups Only Event and help turn Arziona’s legislature blue!
The LD 17 Democrats are inviting you to stand up for drag queens, and the marginalized, by attending “The Drag Queen Story Hour”—A Fabulous Grown-ups Only Event fund-raising event at the and the tickets are $75.
I bought my tickets last week! They’re going FAST!
Organizers tell me,” The doors open at 6 o’clock, and there will be time to mix and mingle with constituents and even take a few photos too! We will distribute ‘swag bags’ to our guests.”
There’ll be some Fitz swag included!

On Thursday June 29th from 3-5PM I’ll be appearing and sketching at a wonderful wine tasting fundraiser for the Cochise County and Santa Cruz County Democrats.
“We are raising money to support our year-round Youth paid intern programming which is not only education but a fun experience for us all.”
Getting young progressives hooked on political involvement-what could be a better cause to toast!
Dos Cabezas is a gorgeous winery in Sonoita and well worth the scenic drive!!
