Once in a while events come up that I want you all to know about and consider attending. Mark your calendars for these four events. And the best event, coming up this Sunday, is last on this short list.
But, first:
Set aside December 9th, Sunday at 12-noon (Doors at 11:30) for our “9th Annual Old Pueblo Holiday Radio Show” performed live at the historic Rialto Theater downtown.
We’ve cast the show! We’re writing the show — and rehearsals have begun for southern Arizona’s favorite, biggest, grandest holiday celebration ever! I have assembled a great cast this year, featuring The Cadillacs, Piano man Sly Slipetsky, singer Mindy Ronstadt, the Grandsons of the Pioneers, the Arroyo Cafe Players—and this year I have some wonderful cameo guest appearances planned that’ll blow you away. Details to come.
Set aside October, 21st, for “Abra-CA-daBARET!”, Revielle’s annual Halloween themed variety show —which I am honored to be hosting for yet another shameless fabulous year! Details to come.
Set aside Saturday September 16 to come see me perform my first flaming political set in years when I headline the premier of “Laughing Liberally” with the brilliant Mo Urban.
“Laughing Liberally”, hosted by the hilarious Phil Gordon and Dave Margolis, with a side dish of Alex Kack, will rock Arizona at the wonderful Tucson Improv Movement theater space, located at 414 E 9th St.
Support this effort to unite and cheer on Arizona’s progressives with sharp laughter.
Details to come.

Come to the Loft THIS Sunday the 27th at 3P.M. for “Agenda Live!” where I will be leading a community discussion about the future of journalism with some of Arizona finest journalists.
Your $20 admission will go to supporting what I consider to be the future of journalism.
Get your tickets here:
During the 2-hour event I will be moderating a conversation with veteran Arizona reporters Hank Stephenson, Curt Prendergast and Caitlin Schmidt. Curt and Caitlin are the veteran journalists teaming up to produce the new "Tucson Agenda".
And we will have time for what I am certain will be a lively Question & Answer segment.
And I will cartoon.
The Loft
Sunday the 27th
3-5PM
The entire program promises to be smart, provocative, fun, informative and one more thing: a cause for hope.
Like the online promo says, “Have you ever wondered about the stuff reporters don’t tell you? You know, the ‘you won’t believe what I had to go through to get that quote’ stuff? Or what they really think about the politicians they know so well. Don’t miss this fun conversation that allows readers a live, behind the curtain peak at the day in the life of an Agenda reporter.”

When my friend Hank asked me to help promote his vision I jumped at the chance to be near the Loft theater’s popcorn machine. Hank is Hank Stephenson. Hank and his colleague Rachel Leingang are the extraordinary journalists behind “Arizona Agenda” which is my number one favorite “insiders” news source for Arizona news.
Subscribe here: Arizona Agenda Now. You’re welcome.
Hank’s an old school reporter and he’ll tell you he’s every politician’s greatest fear. Rachel, like Hank has all the qualities, drive and instinct of a great journalist. What is “Arizona Agenda”? Their website will tell you.
“We’re a daily political insider newsletter for political outsiders, run by two longtime local journalists.
While our main target is state politics and government, we go anywhere we smell bullshit — from local school boards to the halls of Congress.
Our goal is simple: Help Arizonans better understand the state’s political scene and how the government works so they can make informed decisions and hold their leaders to account.”
Now what’s all this about a “Tucson Agenda”?
Now that’s worth showing up for. More to come.
Great, we'll be on the lookout when the tix go on sale.
Sunday is De.c. 10th. Sat is the 9th.
